Week 2 of the Yoga Journey

On Monday I took part in, Hot Hatha Flow for the first time…..oh my days….hot is an understatement, I came out of it dripping literally. It was really hard to concentrate and hold your positions because of the temperature. Its really interesting as all of the sessions are done in heat but some of the classes are ridiculously hot and others are a nice bearable hot.

I guess I am still learning how to concentrate and not let others thoughts come into my head such as ‘I need to get out of this room before I melt!’

The rest of the Yoga sessions this week were good stretching and I feel my mind and body improving with every session.

With Spinning on Tuesday and I had to miss a Yoga session on Wednesday night as I went to watch Manchester United…. who put in a very poor performance against Hull. I had a couple of days rest this week.

Ready for a weekend of swimming, yoga and family time.

Advantages of Gymnastics for Children

There are lots of benefits when children are exposed to sports at an early age. Gymnastics is one of the best sports that children can be exposed to. Here are some of the advantages children get when they are enrolled in a gymnastics class.

  1. Exercise

It is important that children develop the habit of exercising. Regular training helps them become physically active and staying fit. children these days must learn to see the importance of taking care of their bodies through exercise.

  2. Discipline

Gymnastics teaches children discipline. This includes attending the regular training where they are being coached properly. The gymnasts also learn to control themselves and adjust to the corrections that their coaches told them to do so. Children also learn the importance of eating a well-balanced diet daily.

  3. Good posture

Gymnastics help reduce the risk of having osteoporosis because children are being trained on how to maintain good posture at an early age. They also develop strong and healthy bones because of the training that they are going through.

  4. Strength Development

Excellent strength-to-weight ratio is one of the things that gymnasts are known for. Having their bodies developed at an early stage is an advantage. Gymnasts are known to train body weight exercises that develop their upper body, lower body, and core strength.
